Live Music & Other Race Day Activities

23 June 2018

Saturday will be a busy day! CLICK to view this Schedule of Activities.

How often do we get to cheer on 1500+ runners in kilts! There’s plenty of action throughout the 5 mile / 8K race, including Cheering Stations and Pipers.

The Perth Kilt Run is a spectator sport with lots of side activities and attractions – such as the first-ever Dogs of the Tartan Cross Parade being organized by Paws Oasis in Perth. Registration is from 2:00-3:00 pm behind Perth Town Hall, in Stewart Park near the Bandstand. There is a modest $15.00 fee to cover costs ($20 for owners of two dogs), with all proceeds goings to LAWS – Lanark Animal Welfare Society.  Judging begins promptly as 3:00 pm. The parade gets underway at 3:15 pm, crossing Gore Street into the Tay Basin Party Zone and looping 200 m to pass through the Castle start/finish line. There are no restrictions as to pedigree – all dogs are welcome. Really it’s about the creative use of tartan in preparing your dog for his or her big moment! There’s doggie swag for all well-behaved pets who trot demurely to the finish line with you still holding firmly to their leash – and awesome prizes for the top three dogs! Thanks to TropiClean Pet ProductsLoyall Canada and Paws Oasis for donating the dog awards and treats for this event.

At the Enbridge Live Music Stage near the Perth Brewery table in the Crystal Palace basin area, the headline attraction will be Mudmen – self-professed Celtic Rock Warriors who promise to ramp up the excitement.
