Question 1: Will there be a Royal Mile race this year? Answer: You bet! Well, actually it will be a Royal Kilometer (see route map.)
Question 2: What is the refund policy? Answer: Unfortunately, we cannot refund registration fees. We base the budget on number of expected registrants and cannot deviate from that.
Question 3: Are kilts available to purchase when I register? Answer: Yes. Be sure to measure at your bellybutton.
Question 4: How much are the kilts? Answer: $35. You will not find them cheaper anywhere.
Question 5: What should I do if I do not have a kilt? Answer: You’ll need a kilt to run. If you are too late to order a kilt when you register, then try to track down a used kilt or consider purchasing a new one from businesses such as:
- The Irish Scot Tish Shop – Perth
- The Scottish & Irish Store – Ottawa
- Ronald Kilts – Montreal
- Sport Kilt – US
- Stillwater Kilts – US
Question 6: What are the regulations for the kilts? Answer: Must be at least knee length and pleated all around the back, with buckle(s) and a flat apron at the front.
Question 7: Will the race course be certified? Answer: All race distances are certified through Athletics Canada.
Question 8: Can you guarantee the race course will be the same on race day? Answer: All race routes are subject to change, because there may be circumstances beyond our control.
Question 9: When is race bib / kilt / T-shirt pickup? Answer: Pickup is only on Race Day, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Crystal Palace (see map).
Question 10: Where can I park near the event area? Answer: Check the map for approved parking areas. Parking will be free of charge. There will be no parking in the cordoned off race route area or in the Crsytal Palace Basin parking lot.
Question 11: Where can I change, or get a shower? Answer: The Town of Perth has made the change room/showers at the Perth Community Center (Arena) available to all Kilt Runners to use before and after the races. The building is located at 2 Beckwith Street East, a short walk from the race start line (see map).
