Sponsors of Perth’s World Record Kilt RunThank you for your support!
The 9th annual Perth’s World Record Kilt Run is proudly sponsored by Perth Brewery, a family run craft brewery celebrating its 25th year of operations. We toast their success! This a company dedicated to brewing fresh, all natural quality beer from locally sourced ingredients with a focus on approachable taste and drinkability. Be sure to stop by their 121 Dufferin Street / Highway 7 location to sample and purchase from a wide range of delicious and thirst-quenching lagers, pilsners, ambers, IPAs, stouts and fun seasonals. In addition to a generous financial contribution, the Perth Brewery is supporting the Kilt Run by offering a free beer to the adult racers from the beer tent situated in the Crystal Palace Basin area.
We are also very excited to welcome Enbridge to our roster of generous sponors! Thanks to their support, we are able to bring Mudmen back as our headlining performers. This Celtic Rock group was a big hit at the phenomenal 2016 Perth Kilt Run, when we celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Perth Military Settlement Area with the largest kilt run ever! Enbridge is Canada’s largest natural gas distribution company with a 160-year history and over two million customers.
Our Kilt Run volunteers will be brightly decked out in T-shirts provided by the Perth OMYA plant. Omya is a leading global producer of industrial minerals. The quality dry ground calcium carbonate products produced at the Perth plant are used by the paint, plastics and building products industries. The slurry grades are used by paper and packaging manufacturers in Canada and the US. OMYA is an important employer in Perth and has been a loyal Kilt Run supporter for many years.
The Perth Kilt Run Race Directors are also indebted to Mackie’s Crisps Canada for their sponsorship of all the Lads & Lassies Races. Made “from plough to pack” in Scotland, Mackie’s Crisps deliver natural goodness and tasteable difference in every crunch. Their potatoes are the best naturally grown varieties for crisping, and their all natural seasonings impart a range of traditional and Scottish flavours. But it’s their unique gentle cooking method that protects the flavour and quality to ensure a great crunch, fresh potato taste and dry texture!
Another loyal sponsor of the Perth Kilt Run is McCreary’s Beach Resort, located right along the shores of Mississippi Lake, just a short drive from Perth and only 45 minutes from downtown Ottawa. All of the 8k age category race winners (males and females over 16 years) receive a coupon for a free day at the spa, where they can relax those tired muscles.
One of the most thrilling aspects of the day is waiting for the starter gun to fire while listening to the feisty fiddle playing of the featured fiddler up in the ramparts of the Castle start line. This year the musician is Jessica Wedden, a 15-year-old upbeat Celtic and East Coast style fiddler, trick fiddler, step dancer, composer, 2016 Canadian Folk Music Award nominee and 2018 Canadian Songwriting Competition semifinalist. Wow! We’re indebted to Little Stream Bakery of Glen Tay for sponsoring this performance. Little Stream Bakery is well known around the Ottawa Valley for its commitment to organic farming and wholesome foods. Their loaves are naturally leavened (no yeast added), made with organically grow stone ground flour and baked to perfection in a wood fired oven.
Free live music with a Celtic flair is an endearing aspect of Perth’s World Record Kilt Run day that will soon have everyone’s toes tapping. Starting the lineup at 2pm is the Blue Skies Fiddle Orchestra, sponsored by Back on Track Physiotherapy & Health Centres, a holding of Novo Healthnet Ltd. Back on Track services include Physiotherapy/Sports Injury, Registered Massage Therapy and Acupuncture. For clinic locations including Perth and further information, please CLICK on Back on Track.
