Volunteers ~ Cheering Stations ~ VendorsGet Involved!
Volunteers are the heart of Perth’s World Record Kilt Run! An event of this magnitude cannot occur without some 100 volunteers chipping in their time and talent. What a great way to be part of the excitement, especially for non-runners. To volunteer, please email The 2 Marys Inc.
We are indebted to the Perth Civitan Club members who are maintaining the barriers at intersections this year. They literally have our backs, making sure that spectators and runners alike are safe from vehicle traffic. This can be a challenging role, as not all drivers appreciate the need to close some streets during the race. The mission of the Perth Civitan is to serve individual and community needs and enhance lives of those who need assistance, with emphasis placed on helping people with developmental disabilities.
Cheering Stations are charity, church or school groups of 20 or more volunteers competing for cash prize donations to their organization. The prizes are $1000 (1st), $600 (2nd) and $300 (3rd place); all other groups earn a $100 donation. Overall, more than $3000 is donated back to the community every year. This is a fun team-building activity
and opportunity to demonstrate your community spirit. The cheering stations’ enthusiasm and water cups are equally appreciated by passing runners. In 2018 there were only three cheering stations so they all won prizes. Congratulations to:
- Drummond Central School (first prize)
- CIBC (second prize – donated to LAWS)
- Northgate Ministries (third prize)
Vendors are also needed to provide refreshments for the runners and spectators who congregate in the Crystal Palace Basin area. To apply to be a vendor, please complete the Vendor Application Form and submit it along with cheque and proof of insurance to The 2 Marys Inc., 8 Beckwith Street East, Perth ON, K7H 1B3.
